Spotlight Company of the Month: Fluorescent Maintenance Company
Fluorescent Maintenance Company was originally founded as Watson Brothers in 1946 as Electrical Contractors, by three brothers: Bob, Leo, and Jim. The brothers shifted the focus to lighting maintenance in 1948 focused on servicing indoor lighting systems. 5 years later acquired outdoor ladder trucks, initiating service on outdoor lighting and signs. Today the company is owned by Tom Watson, third son of Bob Watson.
Fluorescent Maintenance Company has many strengths, beginning with its employees who deliver great depth and experience, integrity and competence. Many employees have been with the company over 10 years, and each brings a rich and varied background to compliment the company’s overall capabilities. FMC is supported by a strong I/T system that tracks the type of lighting equipment a customer utilizes, the types of lift equipment FMC needs to service the system, and the map to efficiently arrive there.
FMC has high speed internet to search manufacturers for specific lighting equipment when parts need to be ordered saving time acquiring needed material. Also, FMC emails the night inspection reports to clients, again saving time and money. And customers appreciate the convenience of having their report emailed.
Their techs carry camera phones to email photos of situations in the field, which speeds communication and improves understanding. This information can then be emailed to the customer if desired to assist in making decisions
Their building, yard, and warehouse are well organized to facilitate the efficient flow of materials to the trucks, and spent material from the trucks to the recycling area.
We invest the resources every year training and retraining our managers, techs and office team on the latest lighting products, in addition to safety, energy, or environmental regulations. We guarantee our customer’s satisfaction, and work to be certain all our decisions pass the common sense test.
